The project for the park was approached as an extension of the laying out of the mountain of Montjuïc as a park with a full range of facilities, while rejecting the addition of new constructions and emphasising its character as natural landscape. It is therefore a continuation of the woodland character of the mountain, over and above considerations intrinsic to a park-garden.
